Abyssinian Flight Services and Aviation Academy Graduates Fully Trained Pilots

This year’s Abyssinian Flight Services and Aviation Academy graduates include 22 in Private Pilot License, 17 in Commercial Pilot License and 1 in Instructor Ratings.

ADDIS ABABA (Semonegna)–Abyssinian Flight Services and Aviation Academy has graduated a total of 40 pilots (22 in Private Pilot License, 17 in Commercial Pilot License and 1 in Instructor Ratings) at Intercontinental-Addis Hotel in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. It was noted that the graduates include nationals of Graduates include nationals of Ethiopia, Sudan, South Sudan, Gabon, Yemen, Libya, Gabon, Nigeria, Rwanda, Syria, India.

Abyssinian Flight Services and Aviation Academy is a private air charter company providing variety of air services as well as flight training school in Ethiopia. Established in 1999 as a general aviation service provider, by Captain Solomon Gizaw, Abyssinia Flight Services Plc. expanded its operations by setting up the first flight school in Ethiopia in 2006.

Through the 18 years of aviation business, the Company has increased its fleet of aircraft from one Cessna Caravan to six factory new Cessna Caravan/Grand Caravans, six Thielert engine Cessna 172TD aircraft, two Diamond Star DA40-TDI and two Diamond Twin Star DA42 aircraft. The six Cessna 172s and the four Diamond aircraft are dedicated for pilot training school, even though they are occasionally used for ad hoc charter flights.

Expanding the training service first in East Africa and then the rest of Africa, the aviation academy of the Company accepts flight students not only from Ethiopia but also other African countries in recent years. Further, the academy has been training even students from non-African countries as it was learned from this year’s graduation.

Abyssinian Flight Services and Aviation Academy is licensed to offer Private Pilot, Commercial Pilot License, Instrument Rating, Multi-Engine Rating and Instructor Ratings.
