Lion International Bank Reports 196M Birr Net Profit

Lion International Bank’s Board of Directors Chairperson Prof. Tassew Weldehanna said the Bank has made 349.7 million Birr gross profit.

Lion International Bank (LIB) announced that it has made 196 million Birr net profit last budget year.

Speaking at Shareholders 12th General Assembly, Board of Directors Chairperson Prof. Tassew Woldehanna said the Bank has made 349.7 million Birr gross profit.

As part of its effort to expand accessibility, LIB has opened 31 new branches in the reported period. He also said the Bank has provided over 2.3 billion Birr loan to customers, of which export-import, and construction sectors took the lion’s share.

According to Prof. Tassew, the Bank has also created 265 jobs and offered short-and long-term training for over 1, 381 employees.

Bank President Mr. Getachew Solomon also noted the Bank plans to maximize profit in the new budget year. LIB has a plan to collect 2.39 billion Birr thereby increasing its deposit to 8.7 billion Birr and creating some 687 jobs.
