AAU’s Prof. Tsige Gebre-Mariam Awarded the Georg Forster Research Award

Professor Tsige Gebre-Mariam

Professor Tsige Gebre-Mariam, a prominent scholar and faculty member at Addis Ababa University (AAU) has been awarded the Georg Forster Research Award by Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Professor Tsige Gebre-Mariam was nominated for this prestigious award by Prof. Dr. h. c. Reinhard Neubert, Martin Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg, Germany.

The Georg Forster Research Award is granted in recognition of a researcher’s entire achievements to date to academics of all disciplines whose fundamental discoveries, new theories, or insights have had a significant impact on their own discipline and beyond and who are expected to continue developing research-based solutions to the specific challenges facing transition and developing countries.

Tsige Gebre-Mariam is Professor of Pharmaceutical Technology at the School of Pharmacy, College of Health Sciences. He has served the University as Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research and Dean of the School of Pharmacy, and has been a recipient of several research grants and awards. Over the years, Professor Tsige has extensively published in international and national Journals.

This Award recognizes the lifetime achievements of Professor Tsige Gebre-Mariam in research. Addis Ababa University hereby congratulates Professor Tsige for this outstanding achievement.
