To prevent the spread COVID-19, Addis Ababa University (AAU) has changed the provision of the second semester courses from face-to-face lecture (class lecture) to providing lectures via digital communications, such as email, webpage and other online platforms. AAU is running very well its second semester scheduled classes by email, website and other platforms for regular graduate program and for both undergraduate and graduate continuing education programs.
The University is committed to complete the second semester scheduled programs as per the academic calendar for the regular graduate program and for both undergraduate and graduate continuing programs. Thesis/ dissertation defense will be conducted using Google Hangouts and Microsoft Meet Platforms. Virtual graduation will be held on 10th July 2020 and will be live transmitted via the Ethiopian Television (ETV) and other television channels in the country as well as via Microsoft Meet, Google Hangouts, Zoom and Skype. Hence, students have to continue contacting (and advised to closely work with) their department, course instructors and advisors to complete their second semester courses, defend their thesis/ dissertation in time and finalize all the mandatory requirements for the course completion and/or graduation.
Course materials including lecture notes, power point presentations and reference materials for the First Year and Senior Undergraduate Courses of the second semester will be uploaded to our website so that students can read until the official open the University for undergraduate students. Hence, regular undergraduate students are expected to regularly check AAU’s website.
