EVENT: IOHK Addis Blockchain Developer Training
DATE: January 8 – March 24, 2019
VENUE: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Founded in 2015 by Charles Hoskinson and Jeremy Wood, IOHK is a technology company committed to using peer-to-peer innovations to provide financial services to the three billion people who don’t have them. We are an engineering company that builds cryptocurrencies and blockchains for academic institutions, government entities, and corporations.
IOHK is building a team of talented people to develop blockchain applications in Ethiopia and Africa. In partnership with the Ministry of Science and Technology, IOHK will be running a free ten week training course in Addis Ababa to find developers to join our team. From 8 January – 24 March 2019, IOHK will be training 30 developers in the Haskell programming language, with a view to hiring the best trainees as junior software developers for IOHK.
In recognition of the government’s efforts to promote gender diversity in technology, the intake for this first course will be all women. Subsequent training courses and job opportunities will be open to all. Trainees will be hired on merit. A high degree of English literacy, a programming background, and accommodation in Addis Ababa are the only other requirements. The training is free, and a per diem will be paid for the duration of the course.
The course is full time and will be taught at the Ministry of Science and Technology. Teaching will be led by Dr. Lars Brunjes (Ph.D Mathematics from Regensburg University), supported by Dr. Polina Vinogradova (Ph.D. Computer Science from Ottawa University), with guest lectures from Dr. Duncan Coutts (Ph.D. Computer Science from Oxford University).
Applications are open now until 17th December. Please make sure that you are available for the dates of the course before applying. To apply for IOHK Addis Blockchain Developer Training, follow this link http://hr.gs/addis. Good luck!
