The 8th ADDISBUILD Exhibition at Millennium Hall in Addis Ababa

The 8^th ADDISBUILD International Construction, Construction Materials and Technologies Exhibition will take place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia between from 13th to 16th October 2017 in Addis Ababa at Millennium Hall. The 8^th ADDISBUILD is aimed at providing international business platform by enabling exhibitionists to catch global investment opportunities, and build their brand in the region.

Ethiopia has one of the fastest growing economies in the world, according to the World Bank’s Global Outlook report. The country has also recorded an “impressive growth” during the past few years, according to a new IMF review. Located in the region of the Horn of Africa, Ethiopia is the 2nd most populous country in Africa. Ethiopian government reduced customs tariff significantly in the framework of creating economic liberalization. The maximum tariff came down from 230% to 35% and the minimum is 5%. The average tariff was also reduced from 41.6% to 17.5%. Ethiopia has also several international agreements that grant duty free access to many countries, including European countries and the USA. Business friendly climate, duty free access and competitive labor costs have successfully created new investments and employment opportunities. Ethiopia is also a member of COMESA which has an access to 20 African countries.

On the 7th ADDISBUILD Exhibition, which took place in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in October 14–17, 2016, it was reported that 106 exhibitors participated in the fair, from 12 countries. The exhibition took place Addis Ababa Exhibition Center and was visited by more than 5,000 people. The visitors had the opportunity to increase their awareness of the sector, share their experiences, and establish new business connections.

Exhibitors from Turkey, Ethiopia, China, Italy, Germany, Egypt, Sudan, India, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Jordan participated on the 7th ADDISBUILD Exhibition and more exhibitors are expected to take part on this year’s exhibition. The product groups in the exhibition will include construction materials, construction equipment materials, air conditioning, satellite systems, bathroom products, wall coverings, cables, safety and security equipment materials, flooring, pipes and pipe profiles, gas fittings, panel doors, generators, marble, granite and ceramics, kitchen products and equipment, PVC machines, and iron and steel products.
