ADDIS ABABA (2merkato.com)– Ebiz Online Solutions PLC, the owner and publisher of 2merkato.com, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Addis Ababa City Construction Bureau on 29 August 2018 at Addis Ababa City Construction Bureau headquarters. The MoU states that Ebiz agrees to gather construction inputs prices, compile the data, ensure the quality of the data and handover the data to the bureau. Ebiz will also make the data accessible online so that players in the industry can access and use it. Helawi Sewnet Beshah (Architect), the Bureau’s Deputy Head, and Fisha Assefa, Ebiz’s General Manager, signed the MoU.
Ebiz Online Solutions PLC has been posting price information of construction inputs, such as material prices, labor wages and equipment rental prices on con.2merkato.com for over 2 years. This is done in partnership with Luminous Construction PLC. The service has grown in popularity and more and more players in the construction industry are relying on the service.
Under the MoU, Ebiz will collect construction input prices and posts it on con.2merkato.com; it will also provide the price information to the Bureau which in turn uses the information as an input to determine unit prices. The Bureau disseminates the unit price information to various sectors in the City Government. The MoU will remain valid for one year from the signing date.
As per the MoU, the final goal of this partnership is to provide accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible information to various players in the construction industry thereby modernizing the information flow in the industry.
