ADDIS ABABA, Ethiopia (ENA)– Ethiopia’s Agricultural Transformation Agency (ATA) was urged by House of People’s Representatives (HPR) to work closely with sectoral offices to expand market bondages that transform the agriculture sector in the country.
HPR Agricultural Affairs Standing Committee Chairperson, Almaz Melese, said ATA has to prioritize working with Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources and Ministry of Livestock and Fishery as well as with others to realize the transformation of the sector.

Setting timely problem solving mechanisms for the challenges the sector faces has to be given special attention and the animal sub-sector were recommended.
According to Almaz, creating market ties and resolving gaps in relation to marketing has to be the other focus area of the agency through the exerting Agricultural Commercialization Cluster (ACC) initiative.
Agricultural Transformation Agency’s Chief Executive Officer, Khalid Bomba, said the Agency will address the recommended areas during the coming months.
The Agency will extend its engagement to the rest of the country after GTP-2, in addition to the current four regional states, namely Tigray, Amhara, Oromia and SNNP.
