ADDIS ABABA (Semonegna) – China Gezhouba Group Corporation (CGGC) and Addis Ababa Water and Sewerage Authority (AAWSA) signed the contract for the operation and maintenance of Kaliti Wastewater Treatment Plant in Addis Ababa, the Capital of Ethiopia. The Project was CGGC’s first single water operation project in the African market and represents another important achievement of CGGC in developing management consulting businesses and pushing forward its “1+4” strategy.

Located in southern part of Addis Ababa, the Project is currently the largest wastewater treatment project in Ethiopia with the design capacity of 100,000m3/day and adopts the combination of Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) Reaction and biotrickling filters. With investment from the World Bank, the Project involves the operation and maintenance, technical support, training of local operation teams, etc.
