In related news, the Government of Ethiopia has set to launch the country’s National Electrification Program 2.0 (NEP) during the course of this meeting from 27-29 March.

EnergyNet is delighted to be partnering with the World Bank and the Government of Ethiopia for the regional energy cooperation and off-grid forum in Addis Ababa and honored to provide a platform for launching the new version of Ethiopia’s National Electrification Program 2.0 (NEP). The NEP was first launched in 2017 but has not been updated with the progress achieved so far, so the Government of Ethiopia will be outlining how the country plans to achieve universal energy access by 2025 using a sector-wide integrated approach, with a special focus on off-grid sector development in the country. This will be the first time the market has heard these announcements, which are particularly exciting considering the unique and undisputed investment opportunities Ethiopia presents with its rapidly growing economy and vast population.
