DJIBOUTI (Breakbulk)–Freight carrier Steder Group has transported three transformers from the port of Djibouti to an inland project site in Ethiopia.
The units weighed 110 tonnes each and measured six meters long, 4 meters wide and 4 meters high. The team from Steder arranged transportation for the nearly 850-kilometer journey by road.
Headquartered in Rotterdam, Steder is a member of cargo association, the Worldwide Project Consortium, for pre-qualified breakbulk specialists. Fellow WWPC member Express Global Logistics also recently completed breakbulk shipment of autoclaves Shanghai to Lucknow via Mumbai port.
“The transportation was done through four states, and permission had to be obtained from each state for the transportation of the cargo through that state. A road was constructed to get an entry into the factory,” a spokesperson for EXG said.
