(Hotel Management Newsroom)–France’s AccorHotels has entered into three partnerships with Ethiopian investors for the construction and management of three hotels in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
A 162-guestroom Mercure (located close to the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa) will be built by Tihnat Investments PLC and is expected to open its doors in 2020.
A 135-guestroom ibis Styles has been signed with Metro Hospitality Services PLC enterprise. The full-service hotel, also located near the UN headquarters, should be completed by 2019.
Finally, a 230-guestroom ibis will also be managed by AccorHotels on behalf of Abay Technic Trading. Located close to the Africa Union, the hotel, which should open within 2021, will be one of the tallest buildings in the area with 22 floors.
Official ceremonies were held in the presence of newly appointed Steven Daines and Olivier Granet, respectively CEO and COO of AccorHotels for Africa & Middle East.
AccorHotels is already slated to operate more than 500 rooms in Ethiopia by 2020, having signed a 300-guestroom Pullman in 2014 and a 156-guestroom Novotel in 2015.
